Anne Frank was born on June 12, 1929, (Annelies Marie Frank) in Frankfurt, Germany. She was known for her diary that entails her experiences and thoughts while in hiding during World War II. Later, I will list the best and most inspiring Anne Frank quotes and captions. Let’s learn a little more about our author.

Anne Frank and her family moved to the Netherlands in 1934 when Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party won the election. Six years later, the Germans occupied the Netherlands which trapped the family.

In July 1942, the Frank family went into hiding which was behind a bookcase in the building her father is working from. While living in the attic or concealed rooms, Anne Frank spent her days reading and writing on her diary which she received as a birthday gift just a few weeks before.

A little over two years later, the family was found and arrested. Anne and her sister Margot were sent to Auschwitz but then transferred to Bergen Belsen concentration camp.

After the war, her father, Otto, was the only surviving member of the family. He went back to the Netherlands to find that his secretary kept Anne’s diary. Otto decided to publish it in 1947 to fulfil Anne’s life dream to be a writer.

Today, Anne Frank’s diary is one of the most read books in schools, the book had been translated into over 70 languages and continue to make a sale. She was also unofficially called the most famous teenager.
