Ernest Hemingway was born on the 21st of July 1899 in Oak Park, Illinois, USA. He was the second child among the six children. His parents are well-educated and are well-respected in their area. Hemingway first became a journalist before he became a novelist. Some of his famous works include A Farewell to Arms, A Moveable Feast, The Old Man and the Sea, The Sun Also Rises, and For Whom the Bell Tolls.
Hemingway’s writing style strongly influenced 20th-century fiction, so many of the authors imitated his style during that time. He published six short-story collections, seven novels and two nonfiction. His straightforward prose and spare dialogue are effective in short stories, for which he received a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and Nobel Prize in Literature.
