John Winston Lennon was born on October 9, 1940, in Liverpool, England. He was a successful singer, songwriter, musician, and peace activist. He was a member of the world’s successful band The Beatles. Before I list inspiring John Lennon quotes, let’s get to know him a little more.
He first founded the band called The Quarrymen which later grew into what we now know The Beatles in 1960. The band’s popular songs include “All You Need Is Love”, “Come Together”, “Hey Jude”, and “In My Life”. However, in 1969, he started another band called “Plastic Ono Band” with his second wife Yoko Ono. In 1970, he quit the Beatles to venture on a solo career.
Lennon was also a prominent person in peace activism. He and Ono spend their honeymoon to promote peace. He released the song “Give Peace a Chance” which was seen as anti-war. The song was used as an anthem by demonstrators who were against the Vietnam War.
Lennon spent a decade releasing his own music but also took a hiatus in 1075. He had two children.
