As a young person and even as an adult, Mandela has always been an activist fighting for the freedom of Black South Africans. Due to his outspoken support of anti-apartheid, Mandela was sought by the police. However, the law enforcement always claims that he is being hunted for the suspicion of his involvement with communism that aims for terroristic plots.

In 1962, he was captured. It was suspected that someone tipped the police of Mandela’s location. He was placed in a jail in Pretoria. Two years later, he was transferred to Robben Island where he was jailed for 18 years. In 1982, he was transferred to Pollsmoor Prison in Cape Town, then again to Victor Verster Prison until his release in 1990.
